PURPOSE: Magnesium hydroxide particles, a method for preparing the same, magnesium hydroxide colloid, flame retardant compositions including the same, flame retardant coating solution, and flame retardant fiber including the same are provided to improve the dispersing property of the magnesium hydroxide particles. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing magnesium hydroxide particles includes the following: Magnesium chloride and an alkaline solution are mixed into the molar ratio of 1:2 in order to obtain a mixture(S100). The mixture undergoes a hydrothermal reaction and a precipitation process(S200). The mixture is filtered and cleaned. A vacuum drying process is followed. Magnesium hydroxide colloid is obtained(S400). The alkaline solution is ammonium hydroxide. |
