The device (20) has a discharge nozzle (24) impinged by an exhaust gas flow (18). The discharge nozzle projects in an open end of an adjacent exhaust gas pipe (28) such that a low pressure compared to the environment (32) is generated in a suction area (30) with passage of the exhaust gas flow. The suction area is formed between the discharge nozzle and the exhaust gas pipe. An adjusting unit (44) is provided for changing the flow cross-section of the discharge nozzle. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with an engine chamber.
