PURPOSE: A refrigerator having valve, for controlling refrigerant supplied to a plurality of storage rooms, and a control method thereof are provided to reduce horizontal temperature variation of storage rooms by varying the on/off time rate of a refrigerant valve according to the setup mode of each storage room. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a plurality of storage rooms, a valve(141), and a controller(110). The valve comprises a plurality of outlet ports for supplying refrigerant to each storage room. When the controller supplies refrigerant to a plurality of storage rooms, controls the valve in order to open one outlet port of multiples. The controller controls the on/off time of the valve according to the setup mode of the storage room that the refrigerant is supplied. The controller a rate of the refrigerant, divided to each storage room, according to the setup mode of storage rooms. The controller controls the amount of the refrigerant, supplied to each storage room, based on the time rate corresponding to the setup time of the storage room. |
