[Also in Division F4] Condensate through line 13 and superheated steam through line 12 are tangentially injected into an upright symmetrically shaped mixer 11 within a reception vessel 19, the saturated steam so generated being removed by line 14. The superheated steam is injected into mixer 11 through uniformly distributed inlet openings 16 from a surrounding housing 15 so creating a rotating vortex layer 18 from which liquid is thrown out through outlet openings 17 to recirculate around the outside of mixer 11. Several such mixers, which may have conical profiles may be incorporated in a single reception vessel. In a modification (Fig. 1) a closed mixing vessel is used in place of a mixer within a reception vessel. |
