PURPOSE: A method of operating a ship or an offshore structure with a drilling derrick in a low-cog state is provided to enhance buoyant stability by lowering the COG(Center of Gravity) of a ship since a derrick is folded during the sailing of the ship. CONSTITUTION: A method of operating a ship or an offshore structure with a drilling derrick in a low-cog state is as follows. A derrick is carried in a state of being folded by a support on a ship or a barge(50). When the derrick is carried, the upper part of the derrick can be downwardly folded. The COG of the offshore is lowered by supporting the folded derrick using the support. The foldable drilling derrick is installed on the ship or offshore structure. The COG of the ship or offshore structure can be lowered by maintaining the derrick in a folded state while the derrick does not perform a drilling operation.
