End-of-travel switchgear for a tape recorder with a reversing drive, comprises two pairs of terminating contacts 17, 18, Fig. 1, actuated by face cams 13, 15, 16 on spur gears 4, 6 on the output shaft 1 of a reduction gear 1 and arranged to relatively rotate at slow speed so that the cams 15, 16 are brought into operative position during a part of each final revolution by the cam 13 on wheel 4 running out of a cooperating circumferential groove 14 on an opposing face of gear 6. Shaft 1 is driven through worm gear 2, 3 and carries the gear 6 loosely mounted and held in yielding engagement against the gear-wheel 4 by coil spring 8. The gear-wheel 4 is rigidly attached to the end of the shaft 1 and drives the gear 6 through a fixed pinion gear 12. |
