PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a functional material for absorbing pollutants and the functional material are provided to obtain the superior absorbing effect with respect to pollutants by coating a zeolite coating solution on the surface of a target. CONSTITUTION: A zeolite precursor or zeolite powder, a binder, and water are mixed to obtain a zeolite coating solution. The zeolite coating solution is coated on the surface of a target. The coated zeolite coating solution is fixed. The zeolite precursor is obtained by mixing silica precursor, alumina precursor, and water. The binder is one selected from a group including tetraethylorthosilicate, silicate glass, polyethylene grlycol, and epoxy resin.
