A device for detachably connecting a first and a second element comprises a hook member 3 and a covering member 7 for connection to said first element, a retaining member 8 for connection to said second element whereby the hook member and covering member can engage the retaining member and the covering member is movable relative to the hook member to a position in which it covers the hook member and thus renders the hook member inoperative so that the hook' member and covering member can be disengaged from the retaining member. As shown the covering member 7 is long enough so that its end portion can enter the hook of the hook member so that when the hook and covering member are pushed under and beyond the retaining member, a reverse movement will engage the hook with the retaining member, the release of the hook from the retaining member being accomplished by first pushing the hook beyond the retaining member then moving the covering member so that it closes the mouth of the hook and then moving the hook and covering member in the reverse direction, the covering member preventing the hook engaging the retaining member. One of the elements is the flap 2 of a pouch 1 and the element 1 is the remainder of the pouch; the retaining member is a strap connected at both ends to the element 1. In a modified construction the hook member is disposed so that its mouth is on the opposite side of the member 3 to that shown and the covering member is also on the corresponding side of the member. 3; instead of the retaining element being a single strap two superimposed straps are used and the hook and covering member are passed between and beyond the two straps, the hook on the return movement engaging the underneath strap. |
