A battery is assembled by taking a case 10 having notches 21 in the upper end of the cell walls, locating terminal posts 17a in position with synthetic plastics inserts 24 for retaining molten lead, joining the terminal posts with molten lead and placing the lid 11 on, the channels 12 having a suitable synthetic plastics sealing material, and causing the sealing material to flow to seal the battery. A mould 22 may be used when burring the terminals together. |
