Invention herewith described refers to the method for determining feed quality by NIRS method. The method for feed quality determination by NIRS method is comprised of four calibration models: model for determination of neutral detergent fibres (Figure 1), acid detergent fibres (Figure 2), lignin (Figure 3) content and organic matter digestibility (Figure 4) in leguminosas as a group of green forage intended for feeding productive animals (ruminants). The calibration models are characterized by standard error of cross-validation (SECV) of 1.712 (for NDF); 1.233 (for ADF); 0.,650 (for lignin); 1,934 (for organic matter digestibility) and by coefficient of determination (R2) higher than 0.92. This method has an enormous importance for real-time assessment of feed quality, constant monitoring and objective feed quality evaluation, rapid characterization of feed in terms of its nutritional value and making timely, strategic and economic decisions regarding the proper optimization of feed quality.
