A valve controlling communication between pipes 2, 3, each of which is connectable to high vacuum or atmosphere, comprises a pair of closure discs 5, 6 carried by spindle 8 and cooperating with seats 11, 12, the casing 1 being connected to a vacuum pump 9 at least when the discs are seated to allow one of the pipes to be evacuated whilst the other pipe is at atmospheric pressure. A valve may control communication between casing 1 and pump 9, such valve being controlled by the movement of the closure discs. Bellows 7 seals the entry of spindle 8.</p> |
