The animal food comprises one or multiple conventional animal food ingredients. The food ingredients are selected from cereal, cereal products, proteins, amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, mineral additives and flavors. A sweetener combination, 1-1000 mg, preferably 1-100 mg of naringin dihydrochalcone per kilogram of the food and 500 mg of saccharin are also provided.
