The cupboard (1) has a metal crosspiece (5) on one of its surfaces, where the crosspiece is made of metal and aluminum. The crosspiece has a recess (4) and a light element (3) e.g. white LED strip, placed adjacent to the crosspiece. The element diffuses light, and a contactless presence detector (2) controls the element. The sensor is operated by detection of change of capacitance. The crosspiece is fixed on a front facade that is made of a material selected from a laminated decoration panel, a structured decoration sheet, a metal sheet, a mirror, lacquered glass and an acrylic panel.
