Submerged water turbine Bi-symmetric aerofoil for power production in a tidal or current flow

An underwater turbine unit is disclosed. Known underwater turbine units may not operate in ebb and/or flow tides because of the shape of the blade or aerofoil. The aerofoil (5) disclosed is symmetrical about a mid-chord line (A) and also symmetrical about a chord (B) as well as twisting from the tip to the hub. The underwater turbine unit has at least one turbine (25) which has at least one blade (20) having the aerofoil (5) shape disclosed.
