Discloses isolated plant polynucleotide promoter sequences from Festuca arundinacea which comprise a sequence in the Actin 1 promoter selected from the group consisting of: (a) SEQ ID NOs: 1-3. (b) complements of the sequence recited in SEQ ID NOs: 1-3. (c) reverse complements of the sequence recited in SEQ ID NOs: 1-3. (d) reverse sequences of the sequences recited in SEQ ID NOs: 1-3.
