Disclosed is a saddle fitting for tapping into a primary pipe to provide flow from the primary pipe to a secondary pipe. The saddle fitting comprises: two parts (110, 120) adapted to be pivotally coupled at matching ends to enable the parts to clamp about the primary pipe; an aperture (160) through one of the parts for receiving a member to communicate flow from the primary pipe to the secondary pipe; and a sealing element for sealing between an interior surface of the part having the aperture and an exterior surface of the primary pipe. The sealing element has at least one sealing indicator (152a, 152b) extending from the sealing clement such that an end of the indicator lies at least flush with an exterior surface (110b) of the fitting.
