A container 100 comprises a base portion 101 with an opening and a rim 104 proximate the opening, a lid portion 102 at least partially extendible across the opening, the base portion 101 and the lid portion 102 being made separately, an engagement portion adapted to provide coupling between the lid 102 and base 101 and located substantially at the rim 104 of the container 101, and a hinge region 108 enabling the lid 102 and base 101 to move relative to each other. The engagement portion is formed by at least a portion of an edge of the lid 102 and a recess defined by an outer surface of the base 101 and an inner surface of the rim 104.
