PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solution for optimizing/minimizing total capacity of a gold image inside the whole data center using a scale-out type of storage systems. SOLUTION: It is checked whether the gold image that is one of a real gold image and a virtual gold image exists in a first storage system, and a remainder of the storage systems is searched until the real gold image is found in a second storage system when no gold image exists in the first storage system. After finding the real gold image in the second storage system, the virtual gold image associated to the real gold image of the second storage system is created in the first storage system.
