PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of reducing dark current even when performing intermittent driving. SOLUTION: When receiving a response signal transmitted from a portable device through an antenna 12a, the receiver converts the frequency of the response signal by mixing the received response signal with a signal generated by a local oscillator 43, and detects the frequency-converted response signal through a detector 44. Here, a signal level detecting part 30 is intermittently driven by intermittently switching on/off of a switch SW1 while a switch SW2 is turned on while interrupting power feeding to a detecting part 40 by turning off a switch SW3. In addition, power feeding is performed to the detecting part 40 by turning on the switch SW3, on the condition that a detection signal outputted from a radio wave detector 32 exceeds threshold voltage Vr.
