Disclosed is a nonionic surfactant which is represented by general formula (1). R-O-(PO)m-(EO)n-H (1) (In the formula, R represents a saturated linear hydrocarbon group having 8-18 carbon atoms, and in the saturated linear hydrocarbon group, the n-octyl group content is 20-80% by mole, the n-decyl group content is 0-10% by mole and the content of saturated linear hydrocarbon groups having 12-18 carbon atoms is 20-80% by mole; PO represents a propyleneoxy group; EO represents an ethyleneoxy group; m represents an average mole number of added propyleneoxy groups, which is a number of 0.1-5; n represents an average mole number of added ethyleneoxy groups, which is a number of 0.5-20; and (PO)m and (EO)n are block-bonded in this order.)
