The method involves introducing a decorative layer i.e. plastic skin, of a first variant i.e. standard equipment variant, into a half of a foaming tool for producing the first variant before a foaming process. A spacer layer (6) is introduced into the half of the foaming tool for producing a second variant i.e. special equipment variant, before the foaming process. The spacer layer is removed from a polyurethane foam layer (3) after the foaming process. A distance fabric (4) and a leather layer (5) e.g. single natural leather layer, of the second variant are applied on the foam layer.
