PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition switch device capable of setting small a length-direction size of a cylinder body. SOLUTION: Of the ignition switch device provided with a rotor 2 arranged inside the cylinder body 1 in free rotation with a key hole 2a formed for inserting an ignition key IK thereinto, a movable member 3 rotatable in linking with the rotor 2 with a movable contact 3a formed, and a fixing member 4 fixed inside the cylinder body 1 and with a fixed contact 4a formed capable of getting in and out of contact with the movable contact 3a along rotation of the movable member 3, and capable of putting on or off a given electrical circuit by rotating the ignition key IK to make the movable contact 3a and the fixed contact 4a in or out of contact with each other and to start or stop an engine of a vehicle, the movable member 3 is to be arranged at a position overlapping with the rotor 2 in an axis direction.
