PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multihop radio system capable of expanding a communication enabled area. SOLUTION: A radio terminal 10 notifies a higher/lower access point of first and second addresses to be paired, respectively. For a downlink packet, a higher access point AP-A defines the first address as a destination, adds a predetermined sequence control number to the packet, transmits it to the radio terminal, defines the second address as a destination, adds a predetermined sequence control number to the packet and transmits it to the lower access point via a relay link chL. A lower access point AP-B receives the packet via the relay link chL, defines the second address as a destination for the packet, adds a predetermined sequence control number to the packet and transmits it to the radio terminal. The radio terminal 10 receives the packets with the first address and the second address as destinations, buffers the packets, performs diversity combination on the packets having the predetermined sequence control numbers, and performs decoding processing.
