PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic teller machine which reduces power consumption, even when transaction is performed between a user. SOLUTION: The automatic teller machine is provided with an operation section for accepting an operation related to prescribed transaction from a user; a plurality of unit sections for executing the prescribed transaction accepted by the operation section; a power source section for starting the unit section, and for stopping supply of power to the unit section; and a control section for, when the unit section is started, and a prescribed transaction is executed, determining whether or not there is the unit section the starting of which is not required for executing the prescribed transaction among the plurality of unit sections; and, when it is determined that there is the unit section whose start is not necessary for executing the prescribed transaction, for controlling the power source section so as to stop the supply of the power to the unit section the starting of which is determined as being unnecessary.
