PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a ceiling to which a pole is attached from breaking and to reduce the risk of injuries even when there is a person around as well when heavy laundry is hung from the pole, or the like, and excessive loads are applied. SOLUTION: The pole 3 is hung to be elevated and lowered by hanging cords 2, 2 and end pieces 5, 5 are attached to both ends of the pole 3. The end piece 5 incorporates a receiver 8 slidably inside a cylinder on the front end side, and a moving implement 6 is screwed to a screw part 26 of the receiver 8. An attaching implement 7 is engaged with the moving implement 6, the hanging cord 2 is attached to the attaching part 23 of the attaching implement 7, and a decelerating implement 10 is attached so as to be positioned in the end piece 5 at the tip of the hanging cord 2. Further, the hanging cord 2 has an extra length part 33 of about 50 to 100 cm extended at the tip of the decelerating implement 10, and the extra length part 33 is housed inside the pole 3.
