A cork extracting device has a hollow pointed probe 13 for passing through the cork of a bottle and introducing air beneath the cork. The probe 13 is connected to an extension 16 which houses a spring closed one-way valve 27 communicating with a port 12 and a pressure source. As shown, the pressure source is a hand pump having a piston 8, with air inlet grooves 7, sliding up-and-down relatively to a one-way cup valve 6 mounted on a hollow piston rod 11. A bore 32 of the piston rod 11 contains a grooved plastics &c. rod 33 allowing passage of air to the port 12 &c.</p> |
