PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably remove focal plane distortion. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus performs photographing using a solid-state imaging device (CMOS image sensor) having exposure timing different between adjacent horizontal lines. When photographing and recording a moving image at 30 fps, acquisition of high-speed photographing images (I<SB>S</SB>[1], I<SB>S</SB>[2], ...) under a high-speed photographing condition equivalent to 330 fps and acquisition of ordinary photographing images (I<SB>L</SB>[1], I<SB>L</SB>[2], ...) under an ordinary imaging condition equivalent to 33 fps are alternately carried out. Considering that a high-speed photographing image having a small exposure timing difference between adjacent horizontal lines does not almost contain focal plane distortion, focal plane distortion contained in an ordinary photographing image I<SB>L</SB>[i] is removed by image processing based on an optical flow between a high-speed photographing image I<SB>S</SB>[i] and the ordinary photographing image I<SB>L</SB>[i].
