PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a lens need not move a long distance between a photographing state and a housed state and which achieves miniaturization and thinning. SOLUTION: First and second lenses 26 and 27 of a lens unit 21 are formed by cutting a part of cross-sectional area cut in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis of first and second lens bodies 26A and 27A that are nearly symmetric with respect to the optical axis. Therefore, a space part 41 having shape corresponding to the first lens 26 is formed inside the lens barrel 5. In the photographing state, the first lens 26 and the second lens 27 are juxtaposed in the optical axis direction. The first lens 26 and the second lens 27 are arranged in nearly the same phase in a direction around the optical axis. In the housed state, the first lens 26 is arranged in the space part 41.
