PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a gene transfer agent, by which the gene transfer agent narrow in molecular weight distribution and excellent in gene transfer activity can efficiently be produced by a photo-irradiation living polymerization. SOLUTION: The method for producing the gene transfer agent, including a process for performing the photo-irradiation living polymerization in a solution, is characterized by making light-reflecting particles present in the solution. By performing the photo-irradiation living polymerization in the presence of the light-reflecting particles, the light-reflecting particles can reflect irradiated light in many directions to spread the light in the whole area of the system. Thus, the photo-irradiation living polymerization can uniformly proceed in the solution to give the gene transfer agent having a narrow molecular weight distribution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
