<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) transmission device that achieves signal light monitoring with high precision and high reliability, and a signal light monitoring method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) transmission device includes a main signal monitoring part (108) for monitoring input-side WDM main signal light and output-side WDM main signal light for each wavelength; and a management signal transmission and reception part (109) for monitoring the main signal monitoring part by comparing a determination result received from an upstream device with the determination result of the main signal monitoring part, wherein the monitoring result of the main signal monitoring part is transmitted to a downstream WDM device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
