PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring transmission characteristics, capable of reproducing and looping back a received data stream without requiring high-speed processing. SOLUTION: The device has a loop-back function of receiving a data stream from a measured object, converting the data to parallel data, performing necessary measurement, and then reproducing the data stream to transmit the same to the measured object. The transmission characteristic measuring device includes a means for generating a position signal indicating where the head of the received data stream is positioned in the parallel data.
