PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method capable of surely re-coating an object predetermined times, determining whether or not the object is re-coated by the predetermined times only by visualizing the appearance of the coated object, and forming a coating film having finally excellent coating film appearance. SOLUTION: In the method of re-coating the object by carrying out a coating step of coating the object with the same kind of a coating material predetermined times, a coating film is formed so that the difference of the color of a coating film from that of the coating film just before in each coating step after the first coating step is 1-10. it is preferable that a coating film formed in the coating step just before has brightness lower than that of a coating film formed in a next coating step.
