PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive step mat capable of achieving weight reduction and resistance to movement deviation on a fiber floor material. SOLUTION: The automotive step mat is constructed by directing the outside a pile 12 toward the back side of a carpet ground 11 and bonding pile longitudinal knitted grounds 13 of not more than 200 g/m<SP>2</SP>of Metsuke (weight per unit area) together through adhesives. The pile of pile longitudinal knitted ground is a cut pile composed of thermoplastic synthetic fiber pile thread with single fiber fineness of 50-1,000 dtex. A needle loop 16 of pile thread is formed integrally with ground thread 15 of pile longitudinal knitted ground. A protrusion length h from the pile base longitudinal knitted ground is less than 2 mm. The Metsuke of a bonded layer 23 with adhesives interposed between the pile longitudinal knitted ground 13 and the carpet ground 11 is set to not more than 400 g/m<SP>2</SP>. Preferably, at the front end of a cut pile piece 18, an expanded portion 21 thicker than a portion 20 of the needle loop 16 of the pile thread is formed by thermal shrinkage.
