A shell for a display screen comprises a substrate (101), a semi transparent coating on one surface of the substrate (101); and an opaque coating (102) on another surface of the substrate (101), wherein the semi transparent coating comprises a primer layer (103), a metal layer (104), a middle layer (105) and a top layer (106) in order from interior to exterior, and the semi transparent coating has a transmittance of no more than 12%. The display screen without back light is hidden when the transmittance of the semi transparent coating on one surface of the substrate (101) is no more than 12%, which means that the display screen appears to form a unified entity with the shell of the display screen, so that the display screen is hidden when there is only exterior light source (such as sunshine), while a content can be clearly displayed on the display screen when there is interior light source. Furthermore, an improved multi-color spraying method is used in the present invention.
