<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive, compact and thin optical pickup which improves manufacturing workability, while reducing unnecessary radiation from a semiconductor laser, etc., or reducing noise superimposed on a signal for recording or reproducing with respect to an optical disk, with simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: On the optical pickup 10, shield covers 2 integrally formed by a planar metal material are arranged. The shield covers 2 are formed to be engaged or fastened with an optical base 1 and formed to fix a flexible substrate 5, in which wiring conductors of electrical circuit are formed to input/output the signal for recording or reproducing with respect to the optical disk, while being fixed to the optical pickup 10.
