PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work shoe which has a wearing feel and fitness like a split-toed heavy-cloth shoe without impairing the movement or posture of the foot, has durability better than that of the split-toed heavy-cloth shoe, and can relax the impact transmitted from the walking surface. SOLUTION: The work shoe has an upper that has a foot inserting portion for receiving and holding the foot, and a bottom that is formed on the bottom of the upper. In the work shoe, the foot inserting portion is formed with a woven or knitted fabric except the toe portion, while an opening edge as the foot entrance of the foot inserting portion formed with the woven or knitted fabric is provided below the ankles, that a protective pad is installed upward from the opening edge as a foot inlet, wherein the protective pad contains a cushioning material individually covering left/right ankle portions and the Achilles tendon part, and that the bottom is formed from an outsole made of a non-foaming material and constituting a ground contact portion, and a mid sole made of a foaming material filled between the ou sole and the upper.
