PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF SCANDIA-STABILIZED ZIRCONIA SHEET, SCANDIA-STABILIZED ZIRCONIA SHEET OBTAINED BY THE PROCESS, AND SCANDIA-STABILISED ZIRCONIA SINTERED POWDER

A process for the production of a scandia-stabilized zirconia sheet, comprising: a step of pulverizing a sintered scandia-stabilized zirconia mass to form a sintered scandia-stabilized zirconia powder which has a mean particle diameter (De) exceeding 0.3µm and up to 1.5µm as determined with a transmission electron microscope, a mean particle diameter (Dr) exceeding 0.3µm and up to 3.0µm as determined by the laser scattering method, and a Dr/De ratio of 1.0 to 2.5; a step of preparing a slurry which contains both the sintered scandia-stabilized zirconia powder and an unsintered zirconia powder and in which the content of the sintered scandia-stabilized zirconia powder is 2 to 40% by mass relative to the sum of both powders; a step of forming the slurry into a sheet; and a step of sintering the obtained sheet.
