<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform both of a pulse test in a fiber line having a large light loss and a pulse test with high resolution in an OTDR using photon counting without generating any dead zones. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pulse testing device 101 includes: an optical pulse generation means 13 of generating an optical pulse P<SB>1</SB>having a prescribed pulse width for output to an optical fiber 91 to be measured; an APD 14 for performing photoelectric conversion by receiving return light P<SB>2</SB>returning from each position of the optical fiber 91 to be measured each time when the optical pulse P<SB>1</SB>is input to the optical fiber 91 to be measured; a bias power supply 21 for supplying a DC voltage exceeding a breakdown voltage of the APD 14 to the APD; and a bias adjusting means 22 capable of adjusting the value of resistance of a first resistor connected between the bias power supply 21 and the APD 14 to a value of resistance corresponding to setting of pulse width of the optical pulse P<SB>1</SB>generated by the optical pulse generation means 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
