The method involves applying a coating on a substrate (B) by a high-pressure, gravure or offset printing by a rotary printing machine. An optically visible or invisible pattern or effect is obtained by exposure of a magnetic field on a magnetic pigment (2) and/or particles in the coating during running of the printing machine. The pattern or the effect after exposure to the magnetic field in the coating is fixed by drying or radiation. The magnetic field is generated by a permanent- or electromagnet (3), an intermediate layer and a magnetizing head. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for producing an optically visible or invisible effect or pattern in a coating. |
