PURPOSE: An antimicrobial composition containing methyl-isoeugenol or cyclohexanone is provided to be used environmentally-friendly antibacterial agent and antifungal agent. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains methyl isoeugenol or cycleohexanone as an active ingredient. Methyl isoeugenol or cyclohexanone is derived from Acorus calamus L. oil by steam distillation. The composition is has antibacterial effect against Propionibacterium acne. The cosmetic composition is manufactured in the form of skin, cream, emulsion, essence, nutrition water, cleansing water, pack, or foundation.
