PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness of exposure in a shutter scanning direction in the case of using a photographic lens having a revolving function and a shifting or tilting mechanism. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus (100) which has a lens shifting mechanism (118) and a revolving mechanism (220) and is used with a removable lens unit (101) mounted thereon includes: an imaging element (104) having a plurality of pixels; a shutter (105); resetting modules (107 and 108) for sequentially resetting pixels of the imaging element in the running direction of the shutter before starting light shielding by the shutter; and a controller for controlling the timing of resetting so as to reduce the unevenness of exposure of the pixels of the imaging element on the basis of a shift amount of the lens shifting mechanism when the shifting direction of the lens shifting mechanism revolved by the revolving mechanism coincides with the running direction of the shutter or the reverse direction of the running direction.
