PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the durability of a belt by reducing effective tension of the belt. SOLUTION: A toothed belt 10 is provided with a belt body 11 which alternately has tooth parts 15 and bottom parts 16 along a longitudinal direction on one surface thereof and is formed of an elastomer. A core wire element 18 extending in a longitudinal direction of a belt is embedded inside the belt body 11. An intermediate canvas 21 is disposed inside the belt body 11 and embedded in the other surface side of the belt body 11 from the core wire element 18.
