MODULAR NETWORKED LIGHT BULB

A mechanical form factor with a minimum set of electrical connections for a networking module is supported by a lighting apparatus. Different versions of the networked module in the predefined mechanical form factor may be provided for different versions of the lighting apparatus where different networking 5 protocols may be supported. The lighting apparatus may be marked to identify the networking protocol. Methods for building a modular networked light bulb are also disclosed.
