Disclosed is an image encoding device which implements an image compression method for compressing a plurality of still images losslessly and in a small amount of data. The encoding device performs interslice processing (the interslice processing may be arbitrary) between a plurality of images by reversible wavelet transformation, separates pattern information from the original image, and increases the prediction precision of pixels by selecting one prediction method from a plurality of prediction methods using pattern information when encoding the original image, thereby compressing the image losslessly in a small amount of data.
