<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gamma correction table forming method capable of achieving the gamma correction while maintaining gradation information having input image data, and an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining a good printing result by performing an image processing with the gamma correction table formed using the method. <P>SOLUTION: The reflection density of an image actually printed on a paper by each driving waveform of an ink jet head is obtained (S1, S2). A gradation data value corresponding to the reflection density is decided as a quantized value in the halftone processing of each driving waveform (S3, S4). The halftone processing is applied to a gradation pattern using the decided quantized value without making the gamma correction and the pattern is printed (S5, S6). The gamma correction table is formed so that an area ratio corresponding to the reflection density of each gradation of the printing result and an input image data value become linear (S8, S9). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
