PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method for an alloy steel which prevents characteristic deformation generated in a solidified shell, and obtains a slab with a satisfactory casting surface upon continuous casting for an alloy steel. SOLUTION: In the continuous casting method for an alloy steel, an alloy steel in which the total of a Cr concentration and an Ni concentration is ≥12 to <35 mass%, and which is solidified in such a manner that a γ phase is crystallized-out or precipitated is subjected to continuous casting. A mold whose cross-sectional face is circular one or elliptical one close to circular one or oval one is used, and mold flux having a crystallization temperature lower by 150 to 300°C to the liquidus temperature of the alloy steel to be fed to the mold is used. According to this invention, an alloy steel in which the strength of a solidified shell is high and the solidified shell easily has high deformation in the mold can be cast at satisfactory surface quality.
