PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate switching of optical fibers. SOLUTION: In a single mode optical fiber 25<SB>1</SB>, illuminating light from a laser light source 35 is guided to a collector lens 41<SB>1</SB>, where a focal position has been adjusted to an exit end, to convert illuminating light from the exit end into a parallel light flux. In a multi-mode optical fiber 25<SB>2</SB>, illuminating light from the laser light source 35 is guided to the collector lens 41<SB>2</SB>, where a focal position has been adjusted to an exit end, to convert illuminating light from the exit end into a parallel light flux. An optical fiber switching mechanism 40 fixes a first pair composed of the single mode optical fiber 25<SB>1</SB>and the collector lens 41<SB>1</SB>, and a second pair composed of the multi-mode optical fiber 25<SB>2</SB>and the collector lens 41<SB>2</SB>. The fixed first and second pairs are moved in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis of an illuminating optical system, to switch between the first and second pairs disposed on the optical path of the illuminating optical system.
