PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the effective utilization of a resource and the reduction of waste by establishing a new utilization method for the peel of citrus fruits because, although a dried product of the peel of the citrus fruits has been used as a Chinese medicine (Chinpi) and as a detergent, the peel is generally discarded after the consumption. SOLUTION: The peel of the citrus fruits is utilized as incense (incense stick) by kneading the powdered and dried peel of the citrus fruits and a thickener (such as a powder of Machilus thunbergii), with water, and drying the kneaded product. The incense is expected to have various effects such as relaxing by the peculiar perfume of the peel of the citrus fruits, and can also be utilized as the incense stick in Buddhist altar or the like. When the peel and the thickener are mixed with water, a component extracted from the flower of the citrus can be mixed therewith to allow the perfume to be generated more.
