<p>Disclosed is a light emitting element which emits light at a high efficiency and high luminance in uniform polarization state. The light emitting element provided with an active layer that generates light has: a polarizer layer provided with a first region, which passes through, among the light generated by means of the active layer, polarization light in the first direction and reflects other light, and a second region, which passes through polarization light in the second direction that orthogonally intersects the first direction, and which reflects other light; a wave plate layer provided with a third region and a fourth region, which have the light that has been outputted from the first region and the second region inputted thereto and output the light as light in the same polarization state; and a reflecting layer, which reflects the light that has been reflected by means of the first region and the second region.</p> |
