The insert has cooling channels (102, 104) for guiding coolant and/or lubricant and running within the insert in a straight-lined manner. One of the cooling channels comprises two openings (109, 110) that are formed at two surfaces (103, 111), respectively, where one of the surfaces is arranged adjacent to a cutting edge (105) and arranged opposite to the other surface. The two channels are arranged such that the two channels do not cut with each other. The latter surface is provided with another cutting edge (107).
